BADFINGER-BADFINGER-1973-FIRST PRESS (PROMO) GERMANY-WARNER-WB56023. Mega rare promo original of the cult album. Badfinger is the sixth Studio album by British rock band Badfinger. The album was recorded in the fall of 1973 and released in 1974 on the Warner Bros. label .Records. It was the first of two albums released by the band on the Warner label. As a result, shortly after the band and producer Chris Thomas completed recording Ass , they returned to the Studio to make a new album for Warner. Originally scheduled for release on December 28, 1973, the album was delayed due to Ass being released the same month. After the release of Badfinger has received an unfavorable review in Rolling Stone magazine. The UK single released after the album "Love is Easy" failed to chart. The follow-up single released in the US, "I Miss You", also failed. In the United States, the album peaked at number 161 on the BillboardTop 200 LPs & Tape list, making it Badfinger's lowest-charting album there. Part of the reason for the poor commercial performance was that due to legal proceedings with Apple, this album and Ass came out within a few months of each other; in fact, in the UK, Badfinger actually preceded Ass. ...more
