A Day at the Races immediately came under fire from critics. Queen was accused of an unsuccessful attempt to repeat A Night At The Opera. A rare European original of the cult album. A Momentary Lapse of Reason is the thirteenth studio album by the British rock band Pink Floyd, released by EMI Records (September 7, 1987) and Columbia Records (September 8, 1987). This is the first CD recorded by the band after Roger Waters left Pink Floyd. Work on the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason lasted from November 1986 to July 1987 in seven studios in London and Los Angeles. The main part of the material for the new album was written by David Gilmore. In addition, Gilmore took over the duties of producer. Bob Ezrin was invited to record the album as a co-producer. Unlike Pink Floyd's previous works, A Momentary Lapse of Reason is not based on any concept combining the lyrics.A Momentary Lapse of Reason rose to number three in both the US and UK charts. Abbey Road took place from February to August 1969 and was the last joint project of all four members of the ensemble (the last numbered album of the group Let It Be, released in 1970, was mostly recorded in January 1969). The record was produced by George Martin, who had worked with the band since 1962. Abbey Road sold four million copies in its first two months. In the UK, the album debuted at the top of the national chart, where it remained for 11 weeks, before being pushed out by The Rolling Stones ' Let It Bleed for one week. It then returned to # 1 again (in the Christmas week) and stayed there for another six weeks (17 weeks in total), until it was displaced by Led Zeppelin's second record, Led Zeppelin II. In total, Abbey Road spent 81 weeks on the UK albums chart. The situation was similar abroad.
