The first compilation album by the American rock band the Eagles, released on February 17, 1976 by Asylum Records. The album contains a selection of songs from the first four Eagles albums released between the formation of the Eagles in 1971 and 1975. Their greatest hits (1971-1975) reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, where they remained for five weeks. "One of These Nights" and "The Best of My Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100. The album is notable for being the first album to receive platinum certification by the RIAA, which was introduced in 1976 to recognize albums sold a million copies in the United States. It peaked at number four on the Billboard year-end Albums chart in 1976 and spent a total of 239 weeks on the Billboard 200 as of August 2018. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) was the best-selling album of the 20th century in the United States, and it remained so for several years until it was surpassed by Michael Jackson's thriller after the artist's death in 2009.. But he regained this title in August 2018. In 2017, the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Register of Records as "culturally, historically, or artistically significant."

People Are People is a compilation album by the British band Depeche Mode, released on July 2, 1984 in order to consolidate the broadcast success of the song "People Are People", which was released as a single in March 1984. The collection includes nine songs, six of which were already present on Depeche Mode studio albums, and three songs became new for the USA — the singles "People Are People" and "Get the Balance Right!", as well as the B-sides "Now, This Is Fun" and "Work Hard" from the singles "See You" and "Everything Counts" respectively. Walls and Bridges is the fifth solo studio album by Beatles band member John Lennon, released in 1974. "Walls And Bridges" was recorded during Lennon and Yoko Ono's long separation. Elton John took part in the recording of the song "Whatever Gets You thru the Night". He bet Lennon that this song could take the first place in the American charts (which had not previously been possible for any of Lennon's solo singles). In case that happened, Lennon was obliged to take part in an Elton John concert. He had to fulfill his promise because "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" really managed to climb to the top of the chart.
