A very rare original of the cult album..Tourism: Songs from Studios, Stages, Hotelrooms and Other Strange Places is the fourth studio album by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on August 28, 1992 by EMI. Despite the fact that Roxette was often mistaken for a live album, the album was described in its comments as a "touring album": the band recorded most of their material in numerous recording studios in between concerts of their world-famous band " Join the Joyride! Excursion". The album contains three live concert recordings, while another track was recorded live in an empty nightclub in Sao Paulo. Two more tracks were recorded in Buenos Aires' The Alvear Palace Hotel.The album received mixed reviews from American publications upon its release, with some confusing its concept and incorrectly describing it as containing only five previously unreleased songs. It also underperformed the Billboard 200, peaking at number 117 on the chart and selling about 278,000 copies-far short of the million-dollar joyride. It was his first album after the breakup of his band the Bluesbreakers in May 1968,[3] although others claim it was July 14, 1968. It was also his last album with Decca before moving to Polydor.John Mayall sings and plays harmonica, organ and guitar on the album. The other band members are a young Mick Taylor (guitar), Colin Allen (drums) and Steven Thompson (bass). Guitarist Peter Green is featured in the track "First Time Alone". The engineer was Derek Varnals. All the songs on the album were written by Mayall.The album's title comes from Laurel Canyon, California, USA (in the Los Angeles area), where John Mayall subsequently lived from 1969 to 1979. This is an account of his visit there before moving to the United States on a more permanent basis. At that time, this area was loved by many musicians.
