The Chicago Blues musicians who played on this session were Otis Spann (piano, vocals), Willie Dixon (acoustic bass), Shakey Horton (harmonica, vocals), JT Brown (tenor saxophone, vocals), Buddy Guy (guitar), Honeyboy Edwards (guitar) and S. P. Leary (drums).

With this album the band's sound became heavier, given the addition of guitarist Zal Cleminson of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
