A very rare original of the cult album..Tourism: Songs from Studios, Stages, Hotelrooms and Other Strange Places is the fourth studio album by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on August 28, 1992 by EMI. Despite the fact that Roxette was often mistaken for a live album, the album was described in its comments as a "touring album": the band recorded most of their material in numerous recording studios in between concerts of their world-famous band " Join the Joyride! Excursion". The album contains three live concert recordings, while another track was recorded live in an empty nightclub in Sao Paulo. Two more tracks were recorded in Buenos Aires' The Alvear Palace Hotel.The album received mixed reviews from American publications upon its release, with some confusing its concept and incorrectly describing it as containing only five previously unreleased songs. It also underperformed the Billboard 200, peaking at number 117 on the chart and selling about 278,000 copies-far short of the million-dollar joyride. The cover artwork was painted by Rodney Matthews, the famous English Illustrator in fantasy style, created covers for works by many other artists (Scorpions, Thin Lizzy and others) the Title is borrowed from the novel by Alexander McArthur and Kingsley long's "No Mean City" (1935). With this album the band's sound became heavier, given the addition of guitarist Zal Cleminson of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. The popularity of the album allowed the group to come up with a few big names such as Thin Lizzy, in their round of 1978/79. ...more
