PETER HAMMIL-FOOL'S MATE-1971 - FIRST UK PRESS-CHARISMA CAS 1037 . Matrix A-2U/B-1U . Stamper 1R/1M (Dream!) Very rare original cult album. Fool's Mate is the debut solo album by Peter Hammill of progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator .The album was recorded in 1971, in the midst of one of the most productive periods of Van der Graaf Generator. Among the guest musicians of this album were members of Van der Graaf Generator , the members of his label mates Lindisfarne, and guitarist Robert Fripp .The British music press was very positive on Fool's Mate . Melody Maker saw it as "one of the albums of the year". The cover was designed by Paul Whitehead who at the time was the favourite cover artist for Van der Graaf Generator and a fellow of the Charisma band Genesis . Fool's Mate includes one of the most famous songs of Hammill's about love, "Vision", which he still performs in concert. ...more

Very rare original cult prog group in the complete set ( large poster 96cm x 64 see Fields as a progressive rock group formed in 1971 by Andrew McCulloch ( KING CRIMSON) and Graham field (RARE BIRD founder) and Alan Barry (DOWNLANDS). They released one eponymous album in 1971 and the first single from the album, "A Friend of Mine", in 1973. They recorded a second album in 1972, but it was postponed because CBS were not initially released. The master tape of this album was reworked and released as “Contrasts: Urban Roar to Country Peace” in 2015, with the full participation of Graham field. ...more
