In turn, the editors of Rolling Stone noted that The Joshua Tree turned the band "from heroes to superstars". In 1988, the album received two Grammy awards in the categories "album of the year and Best vocal rock performance by a Duo or group". According to the decision of the National Academy of art and science of sound recording of the USA the album was included in "the Grammy Hall of fame", a solemn ceremony was held in 2014. Released in January 1976 on Columbia Records. The most famous was opening the album is the song "Hurricane". It is a protest against the conviction of the boxer Rubin Carter, nicknamed "Hurricane", accused in the triple murder. The album received good grades and was on the first position on the Billboard Pop Albums chart for five weeks, becoming one of the biggest albums of Dylan (and having the status of double platinum) and rose to third position in the UK.
