DETECTIVE-IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE-1978-FIRST UK PRESS-SWAN SONG-SSK59406. Of the matrix A-1/B-1 ALLEN. One of the interesting supergroups of the second echelon DETECTIVE came to the US in 1975, although its members were British. The founder of the band, keyboardist Tony Kaye (the Top Kauai) in the summer of 1968 became the co-founder of YES. The group invited Pete banks FLASH and BADGER. guitarist Michael Monarch (Michael Monarch) of STEPPENWOLF,the bass guitarist SUGARLOAF Bobby Pickett (Bobby Pikett), and Studio drummer John Hyde (Jon Hyde), although he did not play in the popular groups, but the reputation of the American Bonzo, the drummer of Led Zeppelin.At one of the concerts they saw Jimmy page and invited to his own label, Swan Song. The DETECTIVE seemed to him a suitable group and in the autumn of 1976 they signed a contract and first album Paige produced independently.

The album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and to #10 on the UK Albums Chart[1][2]. The singles from it came "Down on the Corner" (#3 US, #31 UK) and "Fortunate Son" (#14 US).
