The first three albums included in the list of 40 best albums of the Canterbury scene, created the site Progarchives.com. In 1973 Van Geest and Vrolijk quit the band, they were replaced by Charlie Mariano (wind instruments) and Herman van Boeyen (drums). Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994 is the first official greatest hits collection by British rock musician sting, contains the singles from the album: The Dream of The Blue Turtles, ...Nothing Like the Sun, The Soul Cages and Ten Summoner's Tales. The compilation includes two new songs: "When We Dance" and "This Cowboy Song" — both were released as singles (however, this version of "This Cowboy Song" was released as the b-side; the a side was released a reggae version of the song, which sting wrote in collaboration with Pato Benton). Also on the disc featured an alternate version of "We'll Be Together" and the new version of "Why Should I Cry for You", which is different from the original, from The Soul Cages. The European version contains five additional tracks that aren't on the American edition of the disc. During 1994, the album was from 2 to 17 in the charts in countries all over the world. ...more

The idea of Freddie Mercury with the involvement of the Symphony orchestra was not implemented because of lack of time, and in the end the album was partially arranged synths and drum machine. The song "Barcelona", which gave the name to the album, became the anthem of the city hosting the Summer Olympics in 1992 in Spain. ...more

SECOND HAND-DEATH MAY BE YOUR SANTA CLAUS-1971-FIRST PRESS FRANCE-2C062-92660. A very rare French original of the second album of the top progressive British band Second Hand. In 1970, they recorded their second studio album, Death May Be Your Santa Claus, at Mushroom Studios and invited Second Hand to release their album there. The album was released in April 1971 with a supporting single titled "Funeral", featuring "Hangin' On An Eyelid " (track 2 from the album) as the B-side. This album was much more successful than the previous one, using a heavy symphonic rock style that clearly influenced the vocal style of Arthur Brown(Rob Elliott was a big fan of them). ...more
