In the 1970's Hubbard had achieved the greatest popularity, connected with a series of albums recorded in collaboration with Creed Taylor and his CTI Records Studio. Albums the beginning of the decade — "Red Clay", "First Light", "Straight Life" and "Sky Dive" — was well received by the audience and was among his best works. Straight Life is a jazz album under the influence of soul / funk, recorded in 1970 by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard . It was recorded 16 November 1970 and released between the albums Red Clay (1970) and First Light (1971). It is also the eighteenth album Hubbard.
