Recorded in the winter of 1977 (although the appointment was made in October 1976) in London (Studio "Audio International Studios"). Released on RCA records in April of the same year. The film was produced by the musicians themselves. This album laid the Foundation for the next three albums. Immediately after the release of the album, the band terminated the contract with RCA and moved on to bigger and more famous label Polydor, which released its last four albums. ...more

Although all members of the Beatles contributed to the previous album Ringo, only John Lennon was Goodnight Vienna. The album became a hit, but less successful than the previous one.Single from the album, a cover version of the song The Platters "Only You (And You Alone)", reached 6th place in the charts in the United States. The album reached 8 on the Oricon chart in the US, in the end got the gold, and the reviews were generally favorable. The second single, "No No Song" reached No. 3 in the American charts.
