The album was recorded at the studio "AnTrop". Initially, it was released on compact cassettes, and in 1988 it was released on records by the record company "Melody". It is the band's first officially released album. The album took the 12th place in the list of "50 best Russian albums of all time", compiled by the magazine "Afisha" according to the results of a survey of young Russian musicians.

It was Fitzgerald's first album for the newly formed Verve Records (and the first album released by the label). Fitzgerald's time on the Verve label allowed her to release her most famous recordings at the peak of her vocal abilities. This album marked the beginning of a series of Fitzgerald songs, each of the eight albums in the series focuses on a different composer's canon, known as the Great American Songbook. The album was recorded on February 7-9 and March 27, 1956 in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
