The album contains six songs by The Beatles, including four new songs and the previously released "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love". JETHRO TULL-BROADSWORD AND THE BEAST-1982-FIRST PRESS UK-CHRYSALIS-CDL1380. The Broadsword and the Beast is the 14th studio album by the rock band Jethro Tull, released on April 10, 1982. The album is a cross between the dominant synthesizer sound of the 1980s and the folk-influenced style that Jethro Tull used in the previous decade. Thus, the band's characteristic acoustic instruments are complemented by electronic soundscapes provided by the new keyboardist Peter-John Vettese. The electronic aspects of this album will be further explored by the band in their next release, In Secret. In the notes to the remastered version of the album, Ian Anderson expresses the opinion that Broadsword contains some of the best music of Jethro Tull. ...more

DEEP PURPLE-PERFECT STRANGERS-1984-FIRST PRESS UK-POLYDOR POLH16  A very rare original in top condition. Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple and the first recorded by the reunited "classic line-up" of the band, released in November 1984.  In early October, Perfect Strangers was mixed, and on November 16 it went on sale, rising to the 5th place in Britain and to the 17th-in the USA. Blackmore, known for his inconsistency, joked that the album should finally be called the album of 1974, hinting that the last album recorded in this line-up was released back in 1973 (Who Do We Think We Are). Such zeal did not remain without consequences: the album turned out to be very successful, quickly became platinum, took 5th place in the UK charts and 17th place in the USA. Deep Purple embarked on a world tour, culminating in a performance in front of 80,000 British fans at Knebworth Park in June 1985. ...more

CHARLES, RAY/ CLEO LAINE-PORGY AND BESS-1976-FIRST PRESS UK-LONDON-D31D2 Rare British original of the legend of the jazz scene. Porgy and Bess is an English-language opera by American composer George Gershwin, whose libretto was written by author Dubose Hayward and lyricist Ira Gershwin. It was adapted from the play "Porgy" by Dorothy Hayward and Dubose Hayward, which is itself an adaptation of the 1925 novel of the same name by Dubose Hayward. Porgy and Bess was first performed in Boston on September 30, 1935, before moving to Broadway in New York.[1] It featured a cast of classically trained African-American singers—a bold artistic choice at the time. After an initially unpopular public reception, the 1976 production of the Houston Grand Opera brought her new popularity, and she is now one of the most famous and frequently performed operas. In 1976, Ray Charles and Cleo Lane recorded an album of excerpts for RCA Victor, in which the two of them performed several roles. The album was arranged and conducted by Frank De Vol. It featured Joe Sample's organ, Harry Edison's trumpet, and guitar work by Joe Pass and Lee Ritenour. ZOO-COUNTY TOWN N-1983-FIRST PRESS 1994 RUSSIA-ZOO-M0054. A very rare original of the cult group. "County Town N" is the first studio album by the band "Zoo", recorded in 1983. The title track is one of the longest songs sung in Russian. One of the tribute albums to the memory of Mike and the band, released in 2005, was called "County Town N 20 years later". The album was recorded in the spring of 1983 on equipment in the building of the "House of the Young Technician" in Leningrad under the direction of Andrey Tropillo. A tape recorder of the Studer brand at the 38th speed and a Basf LR-56 film were used. The recording is characterized by a fairly high sound quality.All the songs included in the album were written by Mike Naumenko, with the exception of the song "Bells", which was written and performed by Alexander Khrabunov, the band's lead guitarist. ...more
