Under the influence of newcomers-vocalist David Coverdale and bass guitarist / vocalist Glenn Hughes-the sound of Deep Purple became more bluesy, elements of funk and soul began to manifest themselves.Despite the fact that the song "Burn" became a big hit, and its main melody is second in recognition only to the legendary "Smoke on the Water", in fact, few people know that the riff of this composition was borrowed from George Gershwin from " Fascinating Rhythm /Someone to Watch Over Me "[4][unauthorized source?]. A rare British original of the cult band.  Wind and Wuthering is the eighth studio album by the English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released on December 17, 1976 on Charisma Records and is their last studio album featuring guitarist Steve Hackett. After the success of their 1976 tour in support of their previous album, A Trick of the Tail, the band moved to Hilvarenbeek in the Netherlands to record their next album, their first recorded outside the UK. Writing and recording caused internal friction, as Hackett felt that some of his contributions had been rejected in favor of material by keyboardist Tony Banks. The album received a positive response from critics and boosted the band's popularity in the United States. It reached No. 7 in the UK and No. 26 in the US and sold steadily, eventually receiving Gold Certification from the British Phonographic Institute and the Recording Industry Association of America. The single "Your Own Special Way" became the band's first single on the US charts, peaking at 62nd place. ...more

MAYALL, JOHN-CRUSADE-1967-FIRST PRESS (STEREO) UK-DECCA-SKL4890. Matrices A-1W/B-1W. A very rare original of the cult blues rocker. Since the release of the previous album A Hard Road, there have been noticeable changes in the composition of the Bluesbreakers: Peter Green left to form his own band (Fleetwood Mac), and Ainsley Dunbar moved to Jeff Beck. John took Keef Hartley to the vacant drummer's place, and it was more difficult to replace the lead guitarist - after all, the new musician would have to bear comparison with both Clapton and Green. John remembered that at one of the concerts, when Eric for some reason did not show up on time, a young boy came who claimed to know the entire repertoire of Bluesbreakers. Mayall didn't have much choice, and he invited the young guitarist to the stage. He demonstrated a good knowledge of the material and excellent technique, and John was impressed with his performance. But after the concert, the boy left without leaving his coordinates. Now Mayall wanted to find this musician, and in the end he was able to do it by placing an ad in Melody Maker. So Mick Taylor came to the band, who was more inclined to blues-rock, and not to pure blues. The band's line-up was expanded with the involvement of two saxophonists-Chris Mercer on tenor and Rip Kant on baritone. This sextet went to the studio on July 11 and 12 to record a new album, which was produced by Mike Vernon, and Gus Dudgeon was again noted as a sound engineer. ...more
