EAGLES-EAGLES-1972-ORIGINAL PRESS 1976 USA-ASYLUM-SD5054. A rare American early edition of the great band's first album. Eagles is the debut studio album by American rock band The Eagles. The album was recorded at London's Olympic Studios with producer Glyn Jones and released in 1972. The album immediately became a success for the young band, taking 22nd place in the charts and becoming platinum. Three singles were released from the album, each of which hit the Top 40: "Take It Easy" (12th place), "Witchy Woman" (9th place) and "Peaceful Easy Feeling" (22nd place). The band, starting with this album, played an important role in popularizing the sound of country rock. The album was ranked 368th on Rolling Stone Magazine's 2012 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and 207th on the 2020 reboot of the list. The album was originally planned to be released in 1990, after 18 concerts Eric in the beginning of the year, but the musician was dissatisfied with the recorded material and the gate 24 Nights was delayed. The first compilation album by the American rock band the Eagles, released on February 17, 1976 by Asylum Records. The album contains a selection of songs from the first four Eagles albums released between the formation of the Eagles in 1971 and 1975. Their greatest hits (1971-1975) reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, where they remained for five weeks. "One of These Nights" and "The Best of My Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100. The album is notable for being the first album to receive platinum certification by the RIAA, which was introduced in 1976 to recognize albums sold a million copies in the United States. It peaked at number four on the Billboard year-end Albums chart in 1976 and spent a total of 239 weeks on the Billboard 200 as of August 2018. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) was the best-selling album of the 20th century in the United States, and it remained so for several years until it was surpassed by Michael Jackson's thriller after the artist's death in 2009..
