ABBA-GRACIAS POR LA MUSICA-1980 - FIRST PRESS SWEDEN-SEPTIMA-SRLM-1. Very rare Swedish original Spanish-language album. Gracias Por La Música is an album by the Swedish band ABBA, released in 1980. The release of Gracias Por La Música was prompted by the band's unexpected rise in popularity in Latin American countries such as Mexico and Argentina, following the release of Spanish-language versions of the songs " Chiquitita "and"I Have a Dream". The band members decided to record eight more songs in Spanish and release a full-length album specifically for this market. Buddy and Mary McCluskey, who worked at RCA Records in Argentina, were invited to translate the lyrics. The tracks were recorded in January 1980 at Polar Music Studios, with lead vocalists Agnete Faltskoog and Anni-Frid Lingstad assisted by Spanish-Swedish journalist Ana Martinez. Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on May 22, 1990 on Relativity and Epic Records. He received a gold certificate from the RIAA. Passion and Warfare was written based on a series of episodes of dreams that Vai had when he was younger, and in the album's guitar notes book Vai summarizes it this way: "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur arranged for Mel Blanc." It was all recorded at Mothership Studios in his Hollywood Hills home, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building that also recorded his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on the album; Coverdale, Adrian Vandenberg and Rudy Sarzo are credited with backing vocals.
