Vincebus Eruptum is the debut album by American rock band BLUE CHEER. Released on January 16, 1968, the album features a thunderous bluesy sound that would later become known as heavy metal. Due to commercial success and critical acclaim, Vincebus Eruptum reached number 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart and secured the 14th line of the cover version of Eddie Cochran's song "Summertime Blues". Being an example of hard rock, it is also considered one of the first heavy metal albums. Spin magazine placed it at number 22 on their list of the 40 Greatest Metal albums.

In 1987, the single "The Living Daylights" was released, which became the theme to the film "Sparks from the Eyes" about James Bond and was later included in the album.
