ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. To record it, Mike Kelly, the drummer from the original composition of Spooky Tooth, returned to the band and, practically, replaced Bryson Graham, who participated in the recording of the previous album You Broke My Heart ... (1973). Gary Wright is gaining more and more influence in the band, which did not please frontman Mike Harrison, who left the band shortly after the release of “Witness”. In addition to Wright, the authors of the music were bassist Chris Stewart in the song "Don't Ever Stray Away" and guitarist Mick Jones in the rather pop "All Sewn Up". Mike Harrison strangely did not have a hand in the composition in any way. But his emotional vocals created the main mood of Witness.
