The album reached the top # 36 in Billboard's Top LP chart and # 41 in the album chart in the UK . The title track was released as a single in October 1969, reaching moderate success on the Billboard Hot 100 . The second single taken from the album " Jesus Is Just Alright ", was released in December 1969, but he managed to reach No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100. After the release of Ballad of Easy Rider was met with mixed reviews, but is now considered one of the strongest albums from the second half of their career.
