The cover artwork was painted by Rodney Matthews, the famous English Illustrator in fantasy style, created covers for works by many other artists (Scorpions, Thin Lizzy and others) the Title is borrowed from the novel by Alexander McArthur and Kingsley long's "No Mean City" (1935). With this album the band's sound became heavier, given the addition of guitarist Zal Cleminson of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
