The Joshua Tree received rave reviews from critics, topped the charts in 20 countries and has sold record numbers. The album brought musicians of international fame — they have become the fourth group, whose picture was placed on the cover of Time magazine, which called them "the highlight of the season." In turn, the editors of Rolling Stone noted that The Joshua Tree turned the band "from heroes to superstars". The album spawned several hit singles that have become the hallmark of the group — "With or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Where the Streets Have No Name". In 1988, the album received two Grammy awards in the categories "album of the year and Best vocal rock performance by a Duo or group".
