The Joshua Tree received rave reviews from critics, topped the charts in 20 countries and has sold record numbers. The album brought musicians of international fame — they have become the fourth group, whose picture was placed on the cover of Time magazine, which called them "the highlight of the season." In turn, the editors of Rolling Stone noted that The Joshua Tree turned the band "from heroes to superstars".
