The speech was recorded on 15 July 1985 at a jazz festival in Montreux ; July 17-18, 1986 at Austin Opera house; and July 19, 1986 at Dallas Starfest. Much of the album was re-recorded in the Studio.

Here we are again seeing the mighty spiritual message of the race in free jazz. Here partner is Santana Alice Coltrane, the widow of a famous jazz musician. Swing is obvious: a brave attempt to mix together classical, jazz and ethnic rhythms - that is, to make universal, comprehensive album.
