In August 1989 Gorky Park release their debut self-titled album. His support in new York was filmed for the song "My Generation" and "Bang". The single "Bang" hit the "top 15" on American MTV and stayed there for two months, reaching 3 lines. The single "Try to Find Me" made it to position 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Gorky Park the first Russian band, caught in the American national chart. The album itself got to 80 on the Billboard 200 for three weeks from the start of sales which has a circulation more than 300 thousand copies. ...more

Since the release of the previous album A Hard Road in the composition of Bluesbrakers there have been noticeable changes: Peter green went to collect his own band (Fleetwood Mac), and Ainsley Dunbar went to Jeff Beck. Performers the album was John Mayall on vocals, harmonica, slide guitar and a Fender Telecaster, tambourine and percussion; Jon mark on acoustic guitar; Steve Thompson on bass, and johnny almond on tenor and Alto sax, flute and percussion. All songs on the album were written by John Mayol (as well as in collaboration with Steve Thompson). The track "I'm Gonna Fight For You JB" is a tribute to American Blues guitarist George. B. Lenoir who died in 1967 and had a profound influence on John Maiella. The album has only seven songs in 48 minutes. Sometimes they seem too long, but this is only the idea of John to immerse the audience into the atmosphere of soft sounds and rhythms.
