The album was named after the structure where the band set up their work residence, as well as drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford, who first named the structure "Factory". Cosmo's Factory became the most commercially successful album of Creedence Clearwater Revival (topping the charts in the US, UK, and Australia) and marked (according to many rock critics) the peak of the band's creativity[1].
