The producer of this release this time was the guitarist of the band Chic — Niall Rogers, who had previously worked with the band when producing the singles "The Reflex" and "Wild Boys". He also played guitar on the album's lead single, "Notorious". It is the only single from the album to achieve its former commercial success (#2 in the US and # 7 in the UK).
