It was recorded at Wally Hader's studio in San Francisco and released in December 1969 by Philips Records. Gary Lee Yoder contributed to the songwriting for the opening and closing tracks, and later joined the band as a guitarist on their next album, The Original Human Being. The album turned out to be very high-quality and critics placed it in the top 20 albums of the year along with the famous grandees of the rock scene of the 70th year.
