Girl Happy is the tenth soundtrack album by American singer and musician Elvis Presley, released on the RCA Victor Records label in mono and stereo format LPM/LSP 3338 in March 1965-the date of March 1 is disputed. This is the soundtrack to the 1965 film of the same name starring Presley. The recording took place on tape recorders in Hollywood, California, on June 10, 11, 12, and Presley's vocal overdubs-on June 15, 1964. Produced and arranged by former Lovin 'Spoonful member Jerry Yester, Closing Time was the first of Waits' seven major releases from Asylum. The album was moderately successful in the United States, and although it did not chart and received little attention from the music press in the UK and other countries too. This explains that the album began to be re-released in Europe in the second half of the 70s when Tom became a super star.
