FITZGERALD, ELLA-THE COLE PORTER SONG BOOK-1956-FIRST PRESS UK-HIS MASTER'S VOICE-CLP1083.A rare British original of the cult album. .Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Song Book is a 1956 studio album by American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald accompanied by a studio orchestra conducted and arranged by Buddy Bregman, dedicated to the songs of Cole Porter. It was Fitzgerald's first album for the newly formed Verve Records (and the first album released by the label). Fitzgerald's time on the Verve label allowed her to release her most famous recordings at the peak of her vocal abilities. This album marked the beginning of a series of Fitzgerald songs, each of the eight albums in the series focuses on a different composer's canon, known as the Great American Songbook. The album was recorded on February 7-9 and March 27, 1956 in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Fitzgerald's manager and producer of many of her albums, Norman Granz, visited Cole Porter at the Waldorf-Astoria and played him the entire album. ALLENTOWN PRESS.  A very rare American original of the cult album. Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album by the American rock band The Doors, released in July 1968. The CD was recorded at Sunset Sound Studio (Los Angeles). It was originally planned that it would be based on a 25-minute composition "The Celebration of Lizard" ("Praise of the Lizard"), but after listening to the recorded material, which only Morrison was satisfied with, this idea had to be abandoned. The album also did not include the title song, which was transferred to the album Morrison Hotel. While working on the album, Morrison often got drunk, which infuriated producer Paul Rothschild. Despite its roughness, as well as a barrage of criticism, the album reached the first line in the national hit parade. ...more
