This is the first album after the split of the band in early 1987, "Hero of Asphalt" is also the first album officially released by "Melody", the two previous albums at that time existed and were distributed as tape albums only on tape cassettes. "Autograph" was one of the most popular progressive rock artists in the USSR. In 1984, the first studio album of the band was released, recorded in the Mosfilm studio. The first full-length album called "Autograph" was released on "Melodies" in 1986, as well as a double concert tape album. On July 13, 1985, the band, the only one from Eastern Europe, took part in the world TV concert Live Aid for Africa. In May 1986, "Autograph" together with Alla Pugacheva and other stars performed at the Olympic sports complex in the charity concert "Score 904" in support of the Chernobyl firefighters.
