Lot 37INCREDIBLE HOG-SAME-1973-FIRST PRESS FRANCE-COLUMBIA-NMINT/NMINT

INCREDIBLE HOG-SAME-1973-FIRST PRESS FRANCE-COLUMBIA-2C064-94876. A rare French original of the cult album. The only album of the trio from London. Its history usually begins in 1970, although the trio began performing under the name “Incredible Hog” (a paraphrased title of the comic book series “Incredible Hulk”) only since January 1972. It ceased to exist at the end of 1973. The band consisted of Ken Gordon (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Jim Holmes (bass guitar), Tony Awin (drums). It is known that Ken and Jim have been friends since school years. At first, they performed in a team called "Speed Auction". Having formed "Incredible Hog“, they then created a club in London” The Pig Sty", which gathered not only their fans, but also fans of heavy rock and blues in general. The band is distinguished by a certain unusual hard rock melody. Ken's guitar playing style clearly resembled the unforgettable Rory Gallagher, and in general the band was compared with the early "Deep Purple“, then with”Groundhogs". English-speaking fans of” Incredible Hog " note as the advantages of the group not only the melody and high technique of performance, but also the lyrics of the songs, which, in their opinion, are quite intelligent and meaningful… According to some reports, the band was recreated and took part in the spring of 2011 at the Roadburn rock festival.
