The album shows the band as returning to a mix of electric and acoustic compositions, thus closer to their early 70s albums such as Benefit (1970), Aqualung(1971) and Thick as a Brick (1972). The album was the first Jethro Tull album recorded outside the UK, in Monte Carlo, Monaco. This was Jethro Tull's last album with bassist Jeffrey Hammond, who left the band after the album's tour ended in late 1975 and was replaced by former Carmen bassist John Glascock. AllMusic has a favorable review stating that the album is "the most artistically successful and carefully crafted album since Thick as a Brick". ...more

The first press was released only in Germany. No Jive is the eighteenth studio album by the British band Nazareth. Released in 1991 by Griffin Records. Despite the retirement of permanent guitarist Manny Charlton and the return of Billy Rankin, in the 90s Nazareth returned to classic hard rock, from which they started. From the first chords of "Hire and Fire", you seem to be transported to 1974, to the time of "Rampant". The first 3 tracks were made in this style. Next is the obligatory melodic semi-ballad "Every Time it Rains". Remnants of the sound of the 80s are still left in "Keeping our Love Alive".
