Minstrel in the Gallery is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Jethro Tull, released in September 1975. The album shows the band as returning to a mix of electric and acoustic compositions, thus closer to their early 70s albums such as Benefit (1970), Aqualung(1971) and Thick as a Brick (1972). The album was the first Jethro Tull album recorded outside the UK, in Monte Carlo, Monaco. This was Jethro Tull's last album with bassist Jeffrey Hammond, who left the band after the album's tour ended in late 1975 and was replaced by former Carmen bassist John Glascock. AllMusic has a favorable review stating that the album is "the most artistically successful and carefully crafted album since Thick as a Brick".

The album was recorded in the spring of 1983 on equipment in the building of the "House of the Young Technician" in Leningrad under the direction of Andrey Tropillo. A tape recorder of the Studer brand at the 38th speed and a Basf LR-56 film were used.
