It was released as the soundtrack to the animated film of the same name, which premiered in London in July 1968. The album contains six songs by The Beatles, including four new songs and the previously released "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love". The rest of the album is a re-recording of the film's orchestral soundtrack by the band's producer George Martin. The yellow submarine entered the top 5 in the UK and the USA.

Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple and the first recorded by the reunited "classic line-up" of the band, released in November 1984. Blackmore, known for his inconsistency, joked that the album should finally be called the album of 1974, hinting that the last album recorded in this line-up was released back in 1973 (Who Do We Think We Are). Such zeal did not remain without consequences: the album turned out to be very successful, quickly became platinum, took 5th place in the UK charts and 17th place in the USA.
