This is the first of two studio albums related to Barbra Streisand's Emmy Award-winning debut on CBS-TV. A special edition of "My Name is Barbra", which aired on April 28, 1965 and was choreographed by Joe Layton. The album was certified gold and reached number 2 on the US charts. Streisand's brother Sheldon took the cover photo when she was five years old. By 1966, the album had sold more than a million copies worldwide.

Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple and the first recorded by the reunited "classic line-up" of the band, released in November 1984. In early October, Perfect Strangers was mixed, and on November 16 it went on sale, rising to the 5th place in Britain and to the 17th-in the USA. Blackmore, known for his inconsistency, joked that the album should finally be called the album of 1974, hinting that the last album recorded in this line-up was released back in 1973 (Who Do We Think We Are). Such zeal did not remain without consequences: the album turned out to be very successful, quickly became platinum, took 5th place in the UK charts and 17th place in the USA.
