A 1957 studio album by American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, accompanied by Duke Ellington and his orchestra, dedicated to Ellington's songs. Part of the Fitzgerald Songbook series, this is the only one where the composer also appears as a performer, and the first time Fitzgerald recorded with Ellington. It is also the entry in the Songbook series that gave her the most opportunities to demonstrate her skill in singing scat. Most of the third disc is dedicated to two original compositions by Billy Strayhorn, inspired by the life, character and artistry of Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's recording on this album earned her the Grammy Award for Best Individual Jazz Performance at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards. The album was released in two volumes: In the first volume was Fitzgerald with the Ellington Orchestra, in the second-Fitzgerald with a small group. This album marked the beginning of a fruitful creative relationship between Fitzgerald and Ellington. "Heroes" is the twelfth studio album by British musician David Bowie, released on October 14, 1977 on the RCA Records label; the second of the so-called "Berlin trilogy" (albums Low, "Heroes", Lodger), recorded in collaboration with Brian Eno. The only album of the cycle, entirely recorded in Berlin. On the "Heroes" disc, the sound of Low's previous album evolved in a more "positive" direction. The composition of the same name — a classic story of two lovers secretly meeting near the Berlin Wall with a threat to their lives - remains one of Bowie's most famous songs to this day. The album as a whole was extremely highly appreciated by critics - in particular, thanks to the contribution of guitarist Robert Fripp, who specially flew from the USA for one day to record his guitar parts. The second album of the hard prog British band consisting of great musicians JOHN CANN, JOHN GUSTAFSON, PAUL HAMMOND.  It is the second and final album by the 1970s British rock band HARD STUFF. During the recording of the album, two band members (John Cann and Paul Hammond) were injured in a serious car accident in Belgium. Cann was sitting in the front passenger seat of their car. Ford Zodiac and suffered a back injury and broken ribs, while Hammond, who was sleeping in the back seat, broke both legs. Kahn spent a week in the hospital in Ostend, and Hammond spent two months.[1] The band managed to finish recording the album, but Cann later stated: "When I listen to it, it sounds a little sketchy and not the way we intended, but still it has its good moments." Hard Stuff disbanded shortly after the release of the album, and the members went their separate ways. After refusing to join ATOMIC ROOSTER, Cann briefly joined THIN LIZZY recording a solo album, Gustafson joined ROXY MUSIC and later the IAN GILLAN BAND,  ...more
