The album was released in the USA on June 7, 1976 by Capitol Records (catalog number SKBO 11537), in the UK on June 10, 1976 by Parlophone (catalog number PCSP 719); at that time, some media suggested that the album was released on the twentieth anniversary of the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. If this was indeed the intention, then EMI made a mistake in their calculations, since in reality these two first met in July 1957. The album's title, Rock ’n’ Roll Music, is most likely taken from a Chuck Berry song, a version of which performed by The Beatles was included on the second side of the album. The album mainly consists of cover versions of songs written by such prominent rock and roll authors and performers of the 1950s as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins and Larry Williams, as well as notable original songs by the Lennon-McCartney duo, such as "Drive My Car", "Revolution", "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Get Back". Rock 'n' Roll Music was The Beatles' first album to include the song "I'm Down", which had previously been available only on the "B" side of the single "Help!". ...more

A rare British original .  Walls and Bridges is the fifth solo studio album by Beatles band member John Lennon, released in 1974. "Walls And Bridges" was recorded during Lennon and Yoko Ono's long separation. Elton John took part in the recording of the song "Whatever Gets You thru the Night". He bet Lennon that this song could take the first place in the American charts (which had not previously been possible for any of Lennon's solo singles). In case that happened, Lennon was obliged to take part in an Elton John concert. He had to fulfill his promise because "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" really managed to climb to the top of the chart. The composition "Beef Jerky" is the only instrumental on Lennon's solo albums. In the song "Ya Ya", Lennon's eleven-year-old son Julian plays drums. ...more

It was released in 1972, after Joplin's death, as a double album. The first record contains performances with Big Brother and the Holding Company, and the second with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, recorded in different locations in 1968 and 1970. There are no live recordings from her first solo work with the Kozmic Blues band on the album, although the songs produced with this group were performed in Full Tilt Boogie Band recordings. The photographs used for the gatefold album were taken by photographer David Gar in New York in 1969 and 1970. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 in the US. ...more
