ATLANTIS-SAME-1972-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-VERTIGO-6360609. A rare original continuation of the cult prog group FRUMPY. Atlantis was formed at the end of the summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravets (keyboards) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played in the band Frumpy. The founding members also included guitarist Frank Dees and drummer Kurt Kress (formerly of the band Emergency). After several live performances in Germany, the first LP was released at Island Records Studio in London, which was widely recognized, especially in the United States, where Rumpf's bluesy vocals were appreciated. Diz and Kress left the band after recording. For a four-week tour of England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meyer joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg joined Atlantis as drummer. After the tour, they were replaced by Dieter Bornschlegel (who had previously worked with the band Dreamtorte) and Ringo Funk (who had previously worked with Geronimo), with whom the second album It's Getting Better (1973) was recorded. ...more

Walls and Bridges is the fifth solo studio album by Beatles band member John Lennon, released in 1974. "Walls And Bridges" was recorded during Lennon and Yoko Ono's long separation. Elton John took part in the recording of the song "Whatever Gets You thru the Night". He bet Lennon that this song could take the first place in the American charts (which had not previously been possible for any of Lennon's solo singles). In case that happened, Lennon was obliged to take part in an Elton John concert. He had to fulfill his promise because "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" really managed to climb to the top of the chart. The composition "Beef Jerky" is the only instrumental on Lennon's solo albums. In the song "Ya Ya", Lennon's eleven-year-old son Julian plays drums. ...more
