The album was recorded during a concert tour of Clapton in the US and UK, 19-20 July 1974 (The Long Beach Arena, California, USA) 4 December 1974 (The Hammersmith Odeon, London) – 25 June 1975 (The Providence Civic Center, Providence, USA).In this tour along with Clapton took part vocalist Yvonne Elliman. The list of songs selected for the album includes four cover versions of songs by well-known American Blues artists, and two, written in the period Clapton in the band Blind Faith.

Pendulum is the sixth studio album by American band Creedence Clearwater Revival, recorded at Wally Hyder's studio in San Francisco and released by the Fantasy label in December 1970. Pendulum is the last CCR album to feature rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, who left the band shortly after the album's release. The record demonstrates the group's desire to expand its own stylistic framework, a number of his compositions are musically noticeably more complex than the CCR recordings of the 1968-1969 sample.
