ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. Most of the record was recorded during 1976, and was produced by the band itself, together with Ken Kailatt and Richard Deschat. Four singles were released in support of the CD: "Go Your Own Way", "Dreams", "Don't Stop" and "You Make Loving Fun". Rumours became Fleetwood Mac's most successful album: in 1978, it was awarded the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and its sales amounted to more than 40 million copies worldwide — one of the highest figures in the history of recording. ...more
