A rare European original legend in rock music. Still Got the Blues is the eighth studio album by Northern Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released in 1990. The album marked a significant change in style for Moore, [1] [2] who prior to this album was primarily known for his hard rock work with Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake, and during his extensive solo career, as well as his jazz fusion work with Colosseum II. As the name suggests, Still Got The Blues demonstrates Moore's commitment to electric blues. The title track was released as a single and peaked at # 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 16, 1991. [4] To date, it is Moore's only single to chart on this chart. On February 16, 1991, the album peaked at number 83 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold by the RIAA in November 1995. WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD?-A 1972 album recorded by The Groundhogs, originally released by United Artists Records in 1972, The cover is in the form of a comic book featuring groundhogs depicted by superheroes, drawn by comic book artist Neil Adams. In the story, they are fighting the personified evils of overpopulation, environmental pollution, war, "Pig Business" and "Sacred Cow" (religion), as well as a drug-addicted Monkey. Each of the band members is fighting their own evil, which has been hindering them from the very beginning, only for them to stand out and wreak havoc in another part of the globe. The lyrics of each song touch on these themes, and despite the comic nature of the cover, the lyrics are quite serious because they are politically and socially motivated.This was the first Groundhogs album to go beyond guitar/bass/percussion instruments, with McPhee using keyboards (mellotron and harmonium) on a number of tracks. ...more
