FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS -YOU WERE MAD FOR ME-1964-FIRST PRESS (MONO) UK-COLUMBIA-33SX1663. A rare British original rock beat band. Mitch Murray was invited to the project, who wrote several songs for FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS, and two subsequent singles, "I'm Telling You Now" and "You Were Made For Me", took second and third place in the charts. All this happened in 1963, and their first full-length album was released in the same year. As was often the case in those days, he was named after the band, Freddie And The Dreamers. And it was a success! Those who know the history of rock music in the sixties will agree with me: not every talented band could count on such success. FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS easily occupied a niche unoccupied by other bands in the souls of the British, or rather, in a certain part of it, and the longplay took fifth place in the national charts. The second album in 1964, "You Were Mad for Me", only fueled interest in the ensemble, although there, as in the first, there was not a single song created within the band. Chuck Berry, Paul Anka, Ray Charles and others…

SMOKIE-CHANGING ALL THE TIME-1975-THE FIRST UK-RAK PRESS number SRAK517. A-1/B-1 matrices. A very rare British original of the legendary band. On this day in 1975, the band Smokie releases their second album, called ‘Changing All The Time'. This album is a testament to the changes. After its release, the band had to slightly change the spelling of its name to avoid being nagged by lawyers for American soul singer Smokey Robinson. However, only the last two letters have changed. But the Smokie sound has undergone significant changes. The band's curators, hit makers, Chinn and Chapman tried to give it more softness with echoes of country rock, which was supposed to turn Smokie into the British answer to the Eagles. And they succeeded. The album entered the top ten of all European charts. ...more

CHICKEN SHACK-IMAGINATION LADY-1971-THE FIRST PRESS OF UK-DERAM-SDL5 Matrix A-P2W/B-P2W is a very rare original of the iconic British prog blues band. Imagination Lady is the fifth studio album by the British blues rock band Chicken Shack, led by the band's constant leader, guitarist Stan Webb. Released in 1971 on the Deram label. The band "Chicken Shack" is the brainchild of guitarist Stan Webb. In 1964, Webb formed the band "Sounds of blue", which also included Christina Perfect, Andy Sylvester and Chris Wood. In 1965, the team went to Hamburg to work, but not all musicians were able to go there, and Stan had to recruit new recruits. Two years later, Chicken Shack (as the ensemble was now called) returned to their homeland, and Webb begged Perfect to return to the team. The combination of Stan's bright blues guitar and Kristina's emotional vocals allowed the band to gain a significant number of fans. "Chicken Shack" also attracted the attention of the famous London producer Mike Vernon, who signed them to his company "Blue Horizon". In 1967, the band performed at the National Blues/Jazz Festival in Windsor, and also toured England with their label colleagues, Fleetwood Mac. During these tours, Kristina got together with the bassist of "FM" John McVie, whom she later married. Following this, Webb broke up with his partners who had escaped to Savoy Brown, and soon put together a new version of Chicken Shack with Paul Hancox on drums and John Glascock on bass. After getting a contract from the Deram label, in 1972 the trio released the album "Imagination Lady". A notable moment of the record was the song "Poor Boy", which Webb performed as an encore throughout his later career. ...more

SMOKIE-MIDNIGHT CAFE-1976-THE FIRST PRESS (PROMO) JAPAN-RAK-ERS-80494. A very rare Japanese promo original of a cult album. After a good start in 1975, on a wave of growing popularity, the band went to California and began work on their 3rd album at Whitney Recording Studios. Where he actually records all the material for the album, only "What Can I Do" was recorded at London's Audio International Studios. Did you make a record, where would you think? On the iconic Abbey Road! The recording featured the classic "golden" Smokie line-up: Chris Norman guitar, piano vocals, Alan Silson guitar vocals, Terry Uttley bass guitar backing vocals, and Pete Spencer drums backing vocals. The length of the album is 43 minutes, 4 of the ten songs belong to the pen of "Double CHE", the rest are written by the members of the group."What Can I Do" was written by Alan Silson, and he also sang it. Mike Chapman produced the album, and it's noticeable, as they say, "with an unarmed ear," his signature violins are unmistakable. The album turned out to be very solid, it listens in one breath, not a single passing thing, it was on it that the very "branded" sound was finally formed, for which we loved Smokie so much. The album was released on April 9, 1976, the producer is EMI records, the copyright to the recording belongs to RAK records, on apples The company's RAC sailboat is on display. To promote the album, 3 singles were released during 1976: "Something's Been Making Me Blue", "Wild Wild Angels" and "I'll Meet You At Midnight". All of them came from the pen of Double Che, all were successful, and "I'll Meet You At Midnight" generally became the number on duty of all pioneer discos of the Soviet Union. ...more
