KANSAS-MONOLITH-1979-THE FIRST HOLLAND-KIRSHNER PRESS-KIR83644. A rare European original of a cult album. Monolith is the sixth studio album by the American progressive rock band Kansas, released in 1979. Monolith initially sold about 800,000 copies, giving it gold status, but it eventually went platinum in the early 1990s. Kerry Livgren donated his platinum plate to the Kansas Historical Society. The album reached number 10 on the Billboard Albums Chart, becoming their third consecutive (and last) studio album to reach the top ten. BEATLES-RUBBER SOUL (STEREO)-1965-THE FIRST JAPAN-ODEON-OP7450 PRESS. A very rare Japanese original on red vinyl in a complete package. Rubber Soul is the sixth studio album by The Beatles, released on December 3, 1965. The album was recorded in just four weeks, and the rush was driven by the desire to release the album in time for the Christmas holidays. DEBORAH HARRY (EX-BLONDIE)-DEF, DUMB AND BLONDE-1989-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHRYSALIS-CHR1650. A rare British original. Def, Dumb and Blonde is the third solo studio album by American singer Deborah Harry. Released in October 1989 on Sire Records in the USA and Chrysalis Records in the UK, the album returned Harry to her professional name "Deborah" rather than "Debbie". Harry worked on the album with various producers, including Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins and Mike Chapman, who previously produced the last four Blondie albums. "I wanted to do something that would remind me of Blondie," she said. The song "I Want That Man", written by Tom Bailey and Alanna Curry of the Thompson Twins, was released as the title single. It entered the top 20 of the UK Singles chart and became Harry's most successful solo single in Australia, where it reached number 2. ...more

SMOKIE-CHANGING ALL THE TIME-1975-THE FIRST UK-RAK PRESS number SRAK517. A-1/B-1 matrices. A very rare British original of the legendary band. On this day in 1975, the band Smokie releases their second album, called ‘Changing All The Time'. This album is a testament to the changes. After its release, the band had to slightly change the spelling of its name to avoid being nagged by lawyers for American soul singer Smokey Robinson. However, only the last two letters have changed. But the Smokie sound has undergone significant changes. The band's curators, hit makers, Chinn and Chapman tried to give it more softness with echoes of country rock, which was supposed to turn Smokie into the British answer to the Eagles. And they succeeded. The album entered the top ten of all European charts. ...more

FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS -YOU WERE MAD FOR ME-1964-FIRST PRESS (MONO) UK-COLUMBIA-33SX1663. A rare British original rock beat band. Mitch Murray was invited to the project, who wrote several songs for FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS, and two subsequent singles, "I'm Telling You Now" and "You Were Made For Me", took second and third place in the charts. All this happened in 1963, and their first full-length album was released in the same year. As was often the case in those days, he was named after the band, Freddie And The Dreamers. And it was a success! Those who know the history of rock music in the sixties will agree with me: not every talented band could count on such success. FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS easily occupied a niche unoccupied by other bands in the souls of the British, or rather, in a certain part of it, and the longplay took fifth place in the national charts. The second album in 1964, "You Were Mad for Me", only fueled interest in the ensemble, although there, as in the first, there was not a single song created within the band. Chuck Berry, Paul Anka, Ray Charles and others… ...more
