At the 1967 Grammy Awards, Sinatra won two Grammy Awards for his efforts on this album, including Record of the Year for the title track, as well as Best Male Vocal Performance for the same song. (In the same year, he received another Grammy Award - "Album of the Year for a Man and his Music"). Ernie Freeman's arrangement of the title track earned him the Grammy Award for Best Arrangement Accompanied by a Vocalist or Instrumentalist. This is the last album Sinatra performed with longtime arranger/conductor Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. The album was certified platinum in both the United Kingdom and the United States, selling five million copies in its first year of release. DEEP PURPLE-FIREBALL-1971-SECOND PRESS 1972 JAPAN-WARNER-P-8092W Rare Japanese edition of the cult album. Fireball is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple. Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, it was released in September 1971 on the Harvest Records label. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. However, he noted that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" on the album (in a country style and with humorous lyrics) was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord highlighted several tracks on the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's performance on the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. It sold 20,000 copies in the first week. The album was highly appreciated by the public and critics, becoming multi-gold on both sides of the Atlantic. ...more
