This is the first studio album recorded with the classic band line-up called "Mark II" (a little earlier, this line-up recorded the live album Concerto for Group and Orchestra). Since this album, the band's style has changed dramatically. Deep Purple started playing hard rock almost simultaneously with such bands as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and are considered one of the founders and classics of this genre. According to the music critic, "the record became the epicenter of destruction, a fresh stream in the rock of the 1970s and a turn in history, in which the roots of the heavy metal style were laid." Deep Purple in Rock became the band's breakthrough album in Europe and reached number four on the UK national charts, remaining on the charts for over a year. GILLA-I LIKE SOME COOL ROCK'n'ROLL 1980-FIRST GERMANY EXPORT  PRESS-HANSA - 201406-320. Very rare original one of the best albums in the disco style. Gill and Roelofs 1980 record a new album, preceded by its release of the single We Gotta Get Out Of This Place. The album was called I Like Some Cool Rock'n'roll, and it was produced by himself, Roelofs, and Farian remained in the project as a viewer and a producer, for which, however, had the final word. The album was attended by interesting disco song Go Down Main Street, Tom Cat, as well as a few songs Roelofs, co-written by Fred Jay, including a beautiful lyrical Take Your Time. What prevented this album to be a bestseller, unknown, but, apparently, the role played by the fact that in 1980 disco began to experience hard times. Nevertheless, the album became fairly common in Europe (especially Eastern) and South-East Asia, where Euro-disco was very popular. ...more
