Vincent Jeffries (Vincent Jeffries) from Allmusic gave the album 4 stars out of a possible 5, calling the album, possibly the best in the work group in the 90-ies, noting the opening 28-minute opus Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy and the song Ride the Dragon.
