S&M (streams abbr. from the Symphony and Metallica) is a joint live album of the American band Metallica and the Symphony orchestra of San Francisco under the baton of Michael Kamen is an, released in 1999. S&M — concert recording of the band's performance together with Symphony orchestra of San Francisco in 1999. The band played songs from all their released at that time, albums (except the first one, kill'em All 1983) since Ride the Lightning (1984) to ReLoad (1997), as well as two new songs "Human" and "No Leaf Clover" and the song "The Ecstasy of Gold" (Ennio Morricone) the first number played by the orchestra. Composer Michael Caiman was a conductor, and also wrote the party of the symphonic instruments. The album was a resounding success on both sides of the Atlantic. For two years he was in the top ten of the charts in Europe and America becoming multiplatinovymi.
