David Jeffries from the site Allmusic.com gave the album four stars out of five. A critic noticed that the CD "has all the signs of frustration": it is missing the keyboard parts of Jon Lord, always give sound Deep Purple special color, and the title and cover too eccentric. However, he said, surprisingly, really amazing album: Lord successfully replaced don Airey, the songs perfectly listen to the vocals of Ian Gillan are still good and the sound quality doesn't cause complaints.
