Ixnay on the Hombre is the fourth album by American punk rock band the Offspring, was released on 4 February 1997. After the major success of the album Smash, the band returned to the Studio in 1996 to record their next album, which was titled Ixnay on Hombre. The name combines pig Latin ("Ixnay" version of the word "nix") and the word "Hombre" (which translated from Spanish means people). Ixnay on the Hombre was released on February 4, 1997 and is the first album The Offspring distributed by Columbia Records. Their former label Epitaph Records released it in Europe due to disagreements between the band and label founder Brett Gurewitz. The group was able to release his album under the label of Columbia for the US and other international releases, but had to finish the album in Europe through Epitaph. It was recorded live at Fairfield Halls , Croydon and The Oz Benefit Concert, London July 1971 and released in September of the same year. It was recorded during the third term of the Dave Mason with the band, which lasted only six performances. The track list includes one song from the first three Traffic albums, two songs from the first solo album Mason's "Alone Together" and "Gimme Some Lovin' " from the former group Steve wynwood art The Spencer Davis Group .
