A New World Record is the sixth Studio album by the British band Electric Light Orchestra, released in September 1976. The album was remastered and reissued in 2006 with the addition of six bonus tracks. A New World Record became their first album, ranked in the top ten in the UK (three previous albums had a great success in USA, but not in the homeland of musicians). The album received platinum status in the UK and in the United States, during the first year after it sold five million copies. Like the previous album A New World Record was recorded at Munich's Musicland studios recording Studios.
